PML-F condemns massacre of Muslims in Myanmar

SADIQABAD - The Pakistan Muslim League-Functional secretary information strongly condemned reported atrocities committed against the Rohingya Muslim community in Myanmar.
She was talking to various party office-bearers and activists in Rahim Yar Khan. The PML-F secretary information also demanded a thorough investigation into the issue.
She said that it is not less than a tragedy that hundreds of Muslims have been killed while the government has not so far protested to the Burma government against the atrocities. She warned that if the Pakistani government did not take a serious notice of the massacre, the PML-F would expand protests across the country.
In response to local and international media reports suggesting widespread killings of Muslims, Sumera Shakeel Chaudhry said that the prosecution of the Muslim in Myanmar would not be tolerated. She added that persecution of a particular community in such manner is blatant violation of fundamental humanitarian principles. The Burmese government’s silence on mass killings of Rohingya Muslims is disturbing. She also urged the Pakistani government to mobilise diplomatic efforts on urgent basis to stop the potential genocide of Muslims in Myanmar. The PML-F leader also urged the international community to pressure the Burmese government to take urgent measures for ending the massacre.
She further said that the so-called Sasta Ramazan bazaars were providing no relief to the masses. She alleged that the subsidised goods were being sold at the market by the officials deployed at these bazaars. On the other side, she added, the rulers were hoodwinking the people by visiting these bazaars. She also criticised the crippling loadshedding in the region like other parts of the country.  
Motorcyclist killed in road accident: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident near Rajana on Toba-Rajana Road. As per detail, Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Chak-336/GB Saraba was going to his village from Rajana. Meanwhile, a speeding wagon ran over the bike. As a result he died on the spot.
IFHC chief contest polls: Inter-Faith Harmony Committee (IFHC) Tehsil President Ch Akhtar Ali Jutt announced contesting election from PP-86 constituency.
While addressing a press conference here, he claimed that he had support of a lot of former nazims, naib nazims and councillors of the area.
He stated that he would contest the election as an independent candidate.
District Kissan Rabita Committee President Mian Iftikhar Ahmad and lumberdar Ch Muhammad Aslam were also present on the occasion.
