ISLAMABAD The Supreme Court on Wednesday summoned Vice-Chancellor Mir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, for getting extensions since 2002. Punjab government has submitted before a two-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that the appointment of vice-chancellor Arid Agriculture University Rawalpidi is against the law, as he has got fourth extension for this post since 2002, therefore provincial government would not support him. The court, while hearing the suo moto case against the illegal appointment of vice chancellor Khalid Mahmood summoned him regarding the matter (today) Thursday. It is worth mentioning here that VC is the cousin of former Petroleum Minister Naurez Shakoor.
