PIA grounds five planes over poor ‘maintenance’

Karachi- Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has grounded five of its aircrafts, over poor performance of the airline’s engineering department.

According to media reports, PIA has grounded five of its aircrafts in the past three weeks, due to poor engineering. An ATR aircraft of the national airliner was grounded at Turbat Airport, while flight PK-192, flying from Turbat to Gwadar, along with PK-501, from Gwadar to Karachi, was cancelled due to problem in the jet.

PIA’s performance has been affected owing to reported corruption and mismanagement issues, within the institution. In different interviews, citizens took exception to the national airliner’s service and said they preferred other airline services in view of comparatively better service provision.
