LAHORE, July 01 (NNI): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the whole nation is united and determined in the war against terrorism.

He said that the nation will soon be rid of the menace of terrorism and made a haven of peace and tranquility with the force of unity. He said that Pakistan Army is fighting against the enemies of peace for the survival and solidarity of the country.

He said that the Pakistani nation is proud of professionalism and courage of its armed forces which have achieved tremendous successes against terrorists. He further said that the nation is standing with its armed forces.

The Chief Minister said that Pakistan people of North Waziristan had to leave their homes in the fight against terrorism. However Punjab government is standing by the displaced people of Khyber Pakistanhtunkhawa and will provide them all out help and assistance till their return and complete rehabilitation, he added.

He was talking to assembly members of various districts here Tuesday.The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has already set up Chief Minister’s Relief Fund with a sum of Rs. 50 crore for the provision of help and relief to the IDPs while relief items worth ten crore rupees have also been sent through 50 trucks. He said that the process of help and assistance to the homeless Pakistanhtoon people will continue in future as well.

He said that besides provision of relief and assistance, Punjab government has also decided to give financial help to the affectees so that they could purchase necessary items to meet their needs. Shahbaz Sharif said that process of cooperation and help to the affectees will continue till rehabilitation of the last person and the government is fully aware of the problems and difficulties of their brethren.

He said that federal government is trying to resolve the problems of IDPs while Punjab government is also extending all out assistance to the affectees in this hour of need. He said that help and assistance to the affected brethren is a religious, moral and national obligation.

He made an appeal to philanthropists and well-to-do persons to donate generously to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the help of IDPs and assured that every penny of their donations will be distributed among affected people in a transparent manner.

Shahbaz Sharif said that service to the people is a form of worship and it is the pivot of the politics of Pakistanistan Muslim League-N. He said that Punjab government is serving the masses selflessly for the last six years and like every year it has announced a historic Ramazan Package for the provision of relief to the masses in the holy month of Ramazan.

 He said that a subsidy of Rs. five billion has been given for the provision of Sasta Atta to the masses. He said that flour is being provided to the people at concessionary rate in Ramzan bazaars and open market.

 He said that ghee, sugar, pulses, chicken meat and other necessary items are also being provided to the masses at less than the market rate with the cooperation of concerned associations.

 He said that 346 Ramzan bazaars have been set up throughout the province for the benefit of the people and best arrangements have been made for the consumers in these Ramazan bazaars. The Chief Minister said it is the responsibility of assembly members to play an effective role for ensuring that deserving persons fully benefit from Ramazan package.

He said that elected representatives should perform their responsibility through monitoring of prices, quality and supply of essential commodities.

He said that success in this world and the world hereafter as well as blessings of Allah Almighty can be earned through provision of relief to the people in the holy month of Ramazan, therefore elected representatives should work day and night to ensure that the benefits of Ramazan Package should reach the common man.
