Senate body accepts Secy, political agents apology

ISLAMABAD- Criticising the irresponsible attitude of the Political Agent of SWA and Secretary Ministry of Railways, the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges has observed that the civil bureaucracy and high ranking officials must work as public servants. Taking up the privilege motions moved by Senators, Muhammad Saleh Shah, and Abbas Khan, the Committee said that they should show courtesy to the members of the Parliament as well as the general public. The meeting of the Committee held at the Parliament House on Monday under the Chairmanship of Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi. During the proceedings, the Political Agent of South Waziristan Agency (SWA) and Secretary Ministry of Railways tendered their unconditional apologies for the alleged misbehaviour. The Committee accepted the unconditional apologies of the Political Agent and the Secretary Railways along with Ameen Khalid, Chief Operating Superintendent, Railways Headquarters, Lahore. Both Senators Saleh Shah and Abbas Khan also apprised the Committee about the factual position. Senators Abdul Razak A Thahim, Abbas Khan, Dr Muhammad Ismail Buledi, Prof Sajid Mir, Muhammad Saleh Shah, secretaries of the Ministries of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) as well as Railways attended the meeting.
