ECP forms tribunals to cater to complaints of rigging in KPK

Peshawar: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to establish tribunals to hear complaints of rigging during local bodies elections held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 30.

According to ECP officials, one tribunal would be constituted in each KPK district under a retired District and Sessions Judge. The panel will be tasked with taking up complaints of candidates regarding irregularities in the polls.

ECP said the tribunals are bound to decide on the complaints within 45 days. –

District Returning Officer Peshawar Riaz Khan Mehsud had reported irregularities in 26 polling stations of the district.

In a letter sent to Election Commission of Pakistan, he said police and polling staff have been found involved in irregularities.
