Karachi- Tension prevailed in the metropolitan after four bodies, recovered from Memon Goth a day earlier were identified as workers of MQM today.
MQM workers gathered outside Edhi morgue while police used tear gas shells to control situation. Tension was seen across the city where markets were shut down soon after news breakout in the city. Transport was disappeared from the roads while petrol pumps and gas stations were also closed. Similar situation was seen in Hyderabad, where markets and transport was forced to shut down. The bodies have been identified as Sameed, Ali Haider, Faizan and Salman Qureshi. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) spokesman has claimed that all the four were party’s workers.
The MQM spokesman further claimed that all four deceased were arrested by Rangers and police from Country tower and Gulshan-e-Maymar on April 13, 2014 and were brutally tortured to death. Police on Wednesday recovered four bodies from Link Road in Memon Goth. Police said the hands and legs of the deceased were tied up with rope while shells of 9MM and TT pistols were recovered near the bodies.
