Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today strongly condemned the murder of DSP Fateh Muhammad and three constables, in an incident of firing in Karachi.

He extended condolences to the families of the deceased and asked for thorough inquiry of the incident. The prime minister said that resorting peace in Karachi was the topmost priority of the government. All steps necessary were being taken to ensure this in the least time possible.

It is pertinent to mention that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdul Fateh was shot dead along with his security guard and driver, in an ambush in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Karachi today. According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire on the car of the deceased police official.
