ISLAMABAD- Pakistan has welcomed the new security agreement between the United States and new Afghan government.
Talking to sources, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan had always maintained the stance that it was an issue between USA and Afghanistan. He said due to this agreement Afghan government would receive military and economic aid.
Sartaj Aziz said according to experts, this agreement would help bring in improved safety. He said US and NATO forces would remain in Afghanistan for the training and assistance of Afghan forces.
Responding to a question, the Advisor described the maiden speech of new Afghan President very positive. He said the start is very good and mechanism of monitoring of borders could also be finalized.
He hoped that trust deficit between the two sides would also be narrowed down in due course.
