Campaign for the enrollment of children in schools has been started from Government Sadiq Dan High School here.
A district officer formally inaugurated the campaign by signing the admission forms of a child namely Hamza at the school. He distributed school bags to the children present there.
Addressing the ceremony, the DCO said that there is no greater gift for youth than education as it brings about change in the society. He asked the teachers that during the campaign they should work with new spirit and enthusiasm while working for the promotion of education. DCO Ehtasham Anwar said that the government has paid attention to education promotion; now it is time for the parents and teachers to play their role in enrolling their children to the schools for the provision of education.
Earlier, EDO (Education) Basheer Ahmad said that in the last year’s enrollment campaign throughout the district, 155,000 children were enrolled in the schools and this year with the cooperation of the UNICEF, a survey is being conducted by going door to door.
He said that along with the survey, enrollment campaign will also continue; its first phase will conclude on 31st of May while the second phase will conclude on October 31, 2016.
Later, a walk was organised from Government SD High School to Fareed Gate. The participants of the walk raised public awareness of education and the enrollment campaign.
