Dr M Ali named as IUB VC

Dr Muhammad Ali Shah will be the new vice chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, it is learnt.
He got his early education from Jhang and did his MSc from Punjab University Lahore in zoology in 1987. He completed his postgraduation from the University of Wales Aberystwyth (UK) in 1999. The title of his PhD thesis was “Effect of variable food levels on growth and reproductive performance of three-spined sticklebacks Gastreosteus aculeatus L”. He completed his post doctorate in Biological Sciences from UM, Columbia in 2009.
He worked as lecturer in biology at Lawrence College, Murree and later joined the Bahauddin Zakariya University as lecturer in 1989. He remained demonstrator at Institute of Biology, UWA of United Kingdom during 1995-1999. He worked as assistant professor during 2000-2006. Now-a-days, he is working as professor at Bahauddin Zakariya University. He got many scholarships and awards during his study and carrier.
He has fellowships Fisheries Society of British Isles and Biological Society of Pakistan. He represented Pakistan so many times in various international conferences. Five students have completed their PHDs in his supervision and nearly 100 students are completing their PHD, MPhil and MSc theses and over 150 research papers have also been published in different Pakistani and international research journals. He also presented nearly 50 papers in different conferences.
