Couple among four shot dead in Okara


OKARA - Four people, including a husband and wife, were shot dead in different incidents while bikes, cash and other valuables were also looted in different robberies in the district during the past 48 hours.
According to detail, unknown armed men fired gunshots on Tanveer Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad and his wife Sajjda Bibi when they were asleep in their house located in Adda Gamber here in Cantt late the other night.
Similarly, one Tariq, son of Muhammad Ramzan, a resident of Subhan Shah Town was gunned down along with his servant Pervaiz when they were asleep in cattle pen in the night. The cause behind the incident is said to be old enmity. Sources said that Ashiq Shah, Malangi and Altaf Shah alias Papu fired indiscriminate gunshots on them, killing both of them on the spot.
Meanwhile, two women were raped by culprits in two separate incidents. Police have registered cases against rapists.
As per detail, Sajid, son of Nazir entered the house of Nazia, a resident of 40/3R village and raped her when she was alone in the house. In another incident, armed culprits Shafqat Abbas, Munir Ahmed and Bilqees Bibi abducted the wife of Sadi Ahmed, a resident of Thatha Tadka Town and molested her.
Meanwhile, armed robbers took away Rs4 million from UBL Branch situated here at Chungi-5. The culprits stormed the bank branch and took the employees hostage.
Similarly, armed dacoits looted three motorcycles, silver ornaments, cellphones and cash. Unknown robbers entered the shop of Imran Ashraf, a resident of Gala Mindi, held him hostage and took away two cellphones and rs60,000.
In another incident, robbers deprived Muhammad Irfan, a resident of Meher colony, of Rs1,30,000 and cheque book when he was on way back to home with his brother on a motorbike.
In yet another incident, dacoits looted 4 Tola of gold ornaments, 25 Tola silver and Rs2,65000 from Munir Ahmad, a resident of 40-Jedi Town. While, in Sakhi Saidan Colony, dacoits snatched a buffalo, worth about Rs100,000, from Maqbool Ahmed.
Similarly, unknown thieves took away a motorcycle of one Muhammad Ikram, a resident of Muhallah Jundi, while in Somian Bhulo Town, dacoits tied Khan with ropes and ran away with a buffalo. In village Thatha Bhatian, Ameer was deprived of his buffalo. In the Outskirts Jedi town, Ubaid Maseeh was deprived of his two buffalos. The police have registered cases accordingly.
