President expresses grief over Zimbabwe VP’s death

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Vice President of Zimbabwe John Landa Nkomo, who died after protracted illness.Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the President in his letter of condolence to the President of Zimbabwe, Robert Gabriel Mugabe, said that late vice President was a revolutionary leader who fought for the liberation of Zimbabwe. The President while lauding his services as a teacher, politician and a true patriot said that John Landa Nkomo dedicated his whole life for his country’s s sovereignty and economic prosperity. President Zardari said that services of late John Landa Nkomo for the country and its people will long be remembered and would remain a source of inspiration for the people of Zimbabwe. The Spokesperson said that President Zardari on his own behalf and behalf of the government and people of Pakistan conveyed deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolence to the President and people of Zimbabwe over the passing away of vice President John Landa Nkomo.
