Punjab IG Khan Baig transferred DSP Malik Dawood Hasnain Awan due to poor performance. The IG also ordered an inquiry against him on the application citizen namely Muhammad Khawar Rashid.
Meanwhile, after assuming charge, newly-posted DSP Shabbir Ahmad Warraich said that there was no room for black sheep in the department. He said that the police would launch a crackdown on gangs of criminals, robbers, drug barons and land grabbers soon. He said that a comprehensive strategy had been adopted and being put into practice to eliminate crime. The DSP also warned that any officer found involved in corruption or malpractice would not be spared.
He sought the cooperation of media, saying that the media could play a vital role in the eradication of crime.
