HAFIZABAD - A constable of Nowshera Virkan Police was shot dead by a courageous widow in Mohallah Bahawalpura here in the wee hours when the constable attempted to enter her house by scaling the walls of the house. According to detail, a police party of Naushehra Virkan led by SI Javed Akhtar and five constables raided the residence of Riaz and Ayyaz on the behest of their rivals, for their arrest in a minor case. The police party without intimating the local police reached the residence and Constable Muhammad Ali mounted the wall. Meanwhile, Shahen Akhtar, sister-in-law of Ayyaz, woke up and opened fire on the cop with a pistol. He fell down from the wall and taken to DHQ hospital where he died.
