RAHIM YAR KHAN-Armed persons kidnapped a bride during her pre-wedding ceremony (menhdi) from Sanjarpur in Tehsil Sadiqabad, some 45-km from here the other night. Ghulam Fareed, a resident of Mohallah Jillani was busy in the menhdi ceremony of her daughter 24-year-old Abida when accused Abdul Qadir alias Qadra, Abdul Haq alias Faqeera, Abdul Ghani, Abdul Haleem, Abdul Wahid and Abdulhai along with eight other accomplices barged into the house and started firing. The accused tortured some relatives of bride on resistance and threatened them with life. They attempted to kidnap the son of Ghulam Fareed but due to interference of neighbours they kidnapped Abida and escape. The Kot Sabzal Police despite information reached the scene after two hours. Ghulam Fareed alleged that some of his relatives who were angry on his daughter's wedding had got kidnapped his daughter. He alleged that delay in action by the Kot Sabzal Police the kidnappers succeeded in escape. The police have registered a case against the accused.
