Two cops shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR - Two policemen were killed and a passerby was injured, when armed assailants opened fire on them near Abbas terminal on Peshawar Ring Road on Monday.  Police say that the incident occurred in Landi Akhun Ahmad area, when two motorcycle riders shot two policemen, Subhan Ali and Usman, dead. A passerby, Sannaullah, was also injured in the incident. He was taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex and was reported out of danger.
Heavy contingent of police rushed the area and started search operation for the arrest of the unknown attackers. Several police personnel including a DSP and a station house officer were targeted in the last week.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shaukatullah Khan has strongly condemned the killing of cops and said that their sacrifice would always be remembered.
Sympathising with members of bereaved families, the governor said that the perpetrators would be brought to justice. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
