JI warns govt against change in corridor route

PESHAWAR - Provincial Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prof. Ibrahim Khan has said that changing the route of Pak-China Economic Corridor would be a blunder on the part of the federal government and his party will not tolerate diversion of this route towards Punjab.
He said this while addressing a three-day training session for women in Jamiat-ul-Muhsanat Ring Road here on Sunday. Nazim of Jamia Inayat Begam, MPA Rashida Zafar, Zenab Miraj and other women leader of Jamaat-e-Islami were present on the occasion.
Professor Ibrahim said that the federal govt should not revise its mistake like the past and due to these flawed policies, nationalist parties will gain popularity to shine their politics.
He said that the stance of federal government of using the old route for Pak-China Economic Corridor is not a suitable choice as this mega project has a lot of potential to create employment opportunity for the people of the poor provinces.
Regarding the police crackdown against Afghan nationals, Prof. Ibrahim said that teasing the Afghan people is not a good omen and there people has a great contribution to the economy of the country. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will not tolerate humiliation of Afghan families and would take up the issues with the provincial government.
He said that Afghan people had suffered due to the prolong war history and it was that war-torn country, which has defeated three super powers Russian, Britain and the US in three consecutive periods.
He asked the provincial government to extend the dateline for Afghan refugees and stop raids against them in various parts of the country.
