Delay in IDPs repatriation

PESHAWAR - Tribal Jirga of Utmanzai tribe from North Waziristan Sunday announced to join scheduled protest demonstration by tribal students being staged on March 5 against delay in starting the repatriation of internally displaced tribesmen to the Agency.
This was decided at a Jirga held with known tribal figure Malak Nasrullah Khan in the chair in district Bannu to decide future line of action. The jirga was attended by tribal elders particularly displaced tribesmen from Bannu and other districts of the province.
They were unanimous that time and again the government was delaying to start sending the displaced people back to their homes. They expressed dismay over the problems and hardships being faced by tribesmen who were living at camps and rented houses in downtowns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The participants of the jirga alleged that police were arresting tribesmen for no reason. They also came down hard on NADRA for allegedly creating hurdles for them in get computerized national identity cards, which they termed regrettable.
They were of the view that since June last they have been living in tents away from their homes. But unfortunately, they said, the government was not taking any interest to mitigate their problems.
Though the government has announced sending the IDPs back to their homes, but unfortunately there is no progress in this regard.
In the prevailing situation, the participants of the jirga announced to join tribal students in their scheduled protest demonstration on March 5 in Bannu against not starting the repatriation of displaced people to North Waziristan Agency.
