Country put on track to socio-economic development despite challenges: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan has been put on track to socio- economic development despite numerous challenges.
“The improvement in the law and order situation in the country has led to enhanced confidence of foreign investors and foreign investment in the country is on the rise. Foreign exchange reserves have reached the record height”, he said this while talking to UN Economic and Social Commission under Secretary General Dr Shamshad Akhtar during a meeting today.
The prime minister said that his government was placing special focus on social reforms program. “The steps taken recently in health and education sectors will benefit the people. The government is also pursuing the policy of bringing betterment and improvement in infrastructure. Steps have been taken to end load shedding as most power projects are in the phase of completion,” Nawaz said.
Dr Akhtar lauded the premier for initiating development and infrastructure projects. “All countries of the region are all praise for the role played by you in forging regional cooperation,” she said.
