AJK PPP raps Nisar for jibe at ISI, army

MIRPUR (AJK) - AJK PPP chief and leader of opposition in Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Abdul Majeed Sunday condemned PML-N leader Ch Nisar Ali Khans statement whereby he had criticised the ISI Chief and the armed forces of Pakistan. No any patriot could even think of criticizing the valiant armed forces of Pakistan and the Director General of the countrys most important and premier Inter Services Intelligence Agency (ISI), who he declared, are primarily the custodian of the ideological and geographical frontiers of the country, the PPP AJK President said while addressing a crowded news conference at the Kashmir Press Club here on Sunday. Lashing out at Ch Nisar, the PPP stalwart said that by making statement, the PML-N Ch Nisar had attempt to harm national integrity and solidarity of the country. Mr Majeed said that since only the PPP was the strong symbol and guarantee of the solidarity and integrity of the federation, the incumbent PPP-led coalition government was sincerely acting upon the policy of reconciliation under the dynamic leadership of the partys co-chairperson President Asif Zardari to maintain cohesion and solidarity among all sections of the society across the country. Referring to the AJK forthcoming general elections, Mr Majeed said that the upcoming elections for the AJK legislature would be of exceptional importance in view of the existing global scenario which was seeking early peaceful settlement to the Kashmir problem. The PPP AJK chief continued that the state assembly elections were being held at such a stage of trial when stringent efforts were underway at the international level for early peaceful solution to Kashmir dispute to ensure everlasting peace in the sub-continent. Mr said that early solution to Kashmir dispute only lied in the implementation of the related United Nations resolutions without further loss of time. To achieve the task in line with the aspirations of the Jammu Kashmir people, free and fair plebiscite across the disputed Himalayan state should immediately be managed by the UN, he urged. The PPP AJK chief revealed that since there was complete unity and harmony in the PPP AJK, the party had so far succeeded in mustering support of the sitting member of AJK Assembly and Jamiat Ulema-e-Jammu Kashmir Chief Sahibzada Attiqueur Rehman and Tehreek-e-Milli Organization of Jammu Kashmir led by Syed Mahmood Bukhari in the coming AJK Assembly elections to bring the party (PPP) in to power with a thumping majority. He said that the sanctity of the territory of AJK being the base camp for the Kashmir freedom struggle would be maintained in all circumstances.
