Hike in POL prices to meet Q ministers expenses: Mush

ISLAMABAD (Online)- The PPP-led government has put an extra burden on the masses by increasing the oil prices to meet the additional expenditures of the ministries that would be given to PML-Q under the new power-sharing arrangements, said former President Pervez Musharraf, who leads All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). The APML leader said that the leading political fronts are ignoring the public issues and are busy in making new political arrangements to accomplish their personal pursuits, reads a press release issued on Sunday. Musharraf said that the people were already confronting the challenges of power outages, mounting inflation and unemployment, adding that the further increase in already high petroleum prices would add to the miseries of the masses. The aim of new political alliance was furtherance of personal and group interests at the cost to the national interest, he said. The APML chief said that hike in the oil prices would further increase inflation and it shows that the incumbents were least interested in addressing the basic problems of the people. During my regime, the price of petrol was Rs 55 per litre that has increased up to Rs 88 while the prices of other commodities have also increased up to 150 percent, Musharraf said.
