Vow to uproot corruption reaffirmed

MANDI BAHAUDDIN-The rampant corruption has virtually blocked the way of justice while the corrupt rulers continue to exploit farmers and labourers for amassing wealth.
The office-bearers of local NGOs stated at a function held to expressing solidarity with the labourers and peasants in their struggle for securing their rights at Committee Bagh here on Sunday.
On the occasion, they condemned government for not giving due consideration to ameliorate condition of farmers and labourers who are the backbone of economy. They demanded end to repression of labourer and better wages and benefits for them.
Later, the Anti-Corruption Alliance formed by different NGOs also observed May Day as black day as part of their anti-corruption movement and vowed to work for the elimination of corruption from the country.
The office-bearers of the NGOs decided to hold a seminar in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Establishment where it would be decided what role the NGOs and civil society can play to assist the ACE in uprooting corruption.
