The Punjab industries minister along with the district coordination officer of Rahim Yar Khan attended a meeting where they finalised a plan for construction of sewerage system, provision of potable water, elimination of encroachments, constructions of greenbelts and a bypass around Sadiqabad city in a bid to solve the local problems.

Talking to the media, the minister detailed that sewerage schemes would be launched and the bypass would be constructed, saying that it was the need of the hour as population is increasing, and especially in the sugarcane season, the transportation of the produce would urgently need the project. He disclosed that for the project, a survey has been completed in the city.
He also pledged to build parks wherever a piece of land was available so as to ensure beautification of the city.
For solution to the local problems, an appeal had been submitted to the Punjab chief minister for provision of funds, he said and added that the PML-N's central and provincial governments were serving the public practically.

DCO Nabeel Javed on the occasion said that for the betterment of handicapped people, a centre would be set up in Rahim Yar Khan and for the construction of a Special Education Centre, land would be provided soon.
On the other side, in various parts of tehsil, the people who are faced with low pressure of gas have asked their recently elected political representatives to work practically instead of sloganeering and making tall claims.
The worst hit areas in this regard include Mazhar Farid Colony, Mian Ghulam Rasool Colony, Mujahid Colony, Faiz Colony, Javed Colony, Muhallah Jalandhria, Lehgari Colony and their suburban areas.
The residents said that the PML-N was running the federal and Punjab governments thus there was no excuse for the party leaders to delay a solution to the problems being faced by the people.
