An anguished person burnt alive his second wife for not taking her share from her parents’ property Kotli Behraam locality here on Wednesday.
Muhammad Azam had married Shakargarh based Noureen Bibi a few years ago and was used to quarrel and brutally torture her for not taking her share from her parents’ property. On the day of incident, the accused and his first wife Humera quarreled with Noureen. Both the accused first sprinkled kerosene oil on Noureen and later set her ablaze. Her body was completely burnt. Local people shifted her to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot from where she was shifted to Mayo Hospital Lahore, where she succumbed to burns. Police handed over the body to victim’s parents for burial after autopsy in this regard. The victim was laid to rest in her native graveyard near Shakargarh amid sobs and tears. A large number of the people attended her funeral. Meanwhile, the Civil Lines police have registered a case against the accused, his first wife Humera and other accused with no arrest in this regard. Her parents have demanded justice with immediate arrest of the accused.
