ISLAMABAD- Threat of spread of Congo Virus is looming large due to illegal and unregistered cattle markets in the twin cities.

With the Eid ul Azha drawing closer the unregistered and illegal cattle markets are growing while the authorities seem helpless in containing them. Due to these markets the threat of spread of Congo Virus is also feared as the animals being sold in these markets have not been checked and vaccinated. Health department has issued red alert several times regarding Congo Virus but the administration has taken no practical measure in this regard.

In this regard the health officials have warned buyers to look out for weak and sick animals and should keep small children away from them. Meanwhile the exuberant rates of sacrificial animals is keeping the buyers at bay.
