NA reiterates unflinching support for PM

ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly on Monday reiterated its unflinching support to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and assured him of not allowing any move to derail democracy and the system in the country.
Resuming debate on the current political situation, they urged the prime minister not to resign, but stay firm.
Participating in the debate, Aasiya Nasir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) condemned the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Imran Khan and Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, for their undemocratic attitude.
“Both the leaders have made innocent people hostage,” she said and urged both the leaders to leave the premises of the Parliament House forthwith. The prime minister, she said, would never resign in any case. She urged the National Assembly speaker to stop salaries of the legislators of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for their continuous absence from the session, ignoring their constitutional obligations and the people of the country.
She said she will move a privilege motion against desecration of the premises of the Parliament House by PAT, PTI and their leaders. Mussarat Ahmedzeb of PTI said she had taken the oath of protecting the Constitution of the country, so she would continue to attend the session.
Sheikh Rohail Asghar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz strongly condemned Tahir-ul-Qadri and Imran Khan and said both were corrupt and unreliable.
He said Imran Khan had admitted in his own book that he used to play gambling. Imran was morally corrupt. He threatened to expose both Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Sardar Awais Leghari of PML-N said both PTI and PAT heads were violating the Constitution. He said after every election, losing candidates always levelled allegation of rigging. He said all genuine demands of PTI and PAT regarding reforms had already been accepted. “Despite acceptance of their demands, Imran and Qadri are demanding the prime minister’s resignation, which is totally unconstitutional and unjustified,” he said. He observed Javed Hashmi had exposed the PTI chief and his monopoly in the party.
He praised Pakistan Army for its positive role and the army reiteration for supporting the democracy in the country.
He said today all diplomatic missions had announced to close their embassies for five days, which would give a bad name to the country. He said he would move a privilege motion.
