Emirates to launch A380 double-decker service KARACHI (PR): Emirates, a global connector of people and places, launches its A380 service to Gatwick today representing a 15 per cent capacity boost for the UK’s South East. Emirates was the first carrier to operate an all-A380 service out of Heathrow and is now the first to lead the service out of Gatwick – the same airport from which Emirates flew its inaugural UK flight 26 years ago.Speaking about the launch, Hubert Frach, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations West said: “Six years after launch the Emirates A380 is still a customer magnet. Airports the world over are eager to have the Emirates A380 on their roster and today’s launch to London Gatwick is representative of that demand.” In order to become A380 compliant, London Gatwick has invested £6.4m in new facilities, including the widening of three runway rapid exit taxiways and modifications to taxiways between the runway and the stand.
JCR-VIS upgrades ratings of Hascol PetroleumKARACHI (PR): JCR-VIS Credit Rating Company Ltd. (JCR-VIS) has upgraded the entity ratings of Hascol Petroleum Limited (HPL) from ‘A-/A-2’ (Single A Minus/A-Two) to ‘A+/A-1’ (Single A Plus/A-One). Outlook on the assigned ratings is ‘Stable’.The rating action takes into account improvement in both financial and business risk profile of the company. The company has raised Rs. 1 billion during the book building process while another Rs. 400 million is expected to be generated during the Initial Public Offering (IPO); the amount of IPO is underwritten. This is expected to enhance availability of credit facilities.Development of requisite infrastructure and an integrated supply chain network will be a competitive advantage for HPL vis-à-vis third party marketers. The business plan of HPL envisages storage facilities at strategic locations, keeping in view discharge points of White Oil Pipeline (WOP) and Mahmood Kot-Faisalabad-Machike (MFM) pipeline.

Seminar on ‘Grow Healthy Pakistan’LAHORE (PR): Tetra Pak Pakistan organised the first ‘Grow Healthy Pakistan’ seminar in collaboration with the Pakistan Nutrition and Dietetic Society (PNDS), to establish a platform for creating awareness of critical issues related to nutrition in the country and to highlight the value of milk in overcoming malnutrition among children. A large number of nutritionists, representatives of UNICEF, media representatives and other stakeholders participated in the seminar. Following the welcome address, an analysis of the National Nutrition Survey was presented by Dr Shehla from UNICEF to set the situational context of Pakistan. This was followed by a presentation by President of PNDS, Faiza Khan on the ‘March Nutrition Month’ activities. Tetra Pak Pakistan presented their ‘Grow Healthy Pakistan’ concept, which seeks to create widespread awareness of drinking milk, especially through a nationwide School Milk Program.
