PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai, has said the result-oriented initiatives are being taken to provide best health services to the people, adding that a comprehensive strategy would also be adopted to eradicate dangerous diseases including polio and dengue throughout the province.
This he said while presiding over a meeting of health department here on Wednesday. Secretary Health Ghulam Qadir, Special Secretary Akbar Khan, Additional Secretary Health, Khan Bakhsh, Additional Secretary Development, Anees Akhtar, Director General Health, Abdul Waheed, and other concerned officials also attended the meeting.
The health minister said the health department was directly involved with public and had a basic role to bring about a change in the society; therefore, the health employees and medical staff must have to perform their professional duties to facilitate the masses honestly. He warned that strict action would be taken against irresponsible officials, while the dutiful officers and staff would be encouraged at their good performance. He also directed the concerned officers to ensure complete eradication of corruption. He also directed to utilise the funds and resources transparently to facilitate the poor masses according to their expectations.
The minister further stated that modern and automatic system of information technology would be introduced. Moreover, he decided to formulate a powerful committee to tackle the issue regarding shortage of staff, promotion of medical officers, recruitment and court cases and directed concerned to take serious steps in this regard.

mudslide grieves Khattak
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has expressed immense grief and sorrow over the loss of properties and human lives due to heavy rain and storm in different parts of the province.
In a statement, the chief minister said that humans had no control over natural disasters and they were test for them "while as Muslims we have to face it with patience." The chief minister also expressed his heartiest grief over the deaths of children and injuring of others in the incident of mudslide in Mansehra. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls in all these incidents and early recovery of the injured. He also expressed heartiest sympathies with the affected families.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan Durrani, has transferred DPO Dera Ismail Khan and suspended SDPO and SHO of Pharpur with immediate effect on poor performance. According to details, for the last few days crime in Dera Ismail Khan has shot up to an alarming level and two big bank dacoities occurred on two consecutive days in the same jurisdiction. The IGP took strong notice of these incidents and ordered transfer of DPO Dera Ismail Khan and directed him to report to CPO with immediate effect. Similarly on account of two bank dacoities on consecutive days in the same area the IGP suspended SDPO Pharpur and SHO Pharpur and ordered them to report to Police Line with immediate effect.
