DUBAI: Former president and army chief General (r) Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday voiced his desire to return to Pakistan soon and participate in the 2018 general elections with full preparation.

According to the information department of All Pakistan Muslim League, while addressing his party's global conference in Dubai, Musharraf said that he had not run away from the country but that he would be back soon and would contest the upcoming elections in 2018.

Musharraf added that he would further improve the management of party.

It is pertinent to mention that Musharraf left the country on March 18 soon after the Supreme Court upheld the Sindh High Court directives to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
