Man killed in bus-truck collision



LAKKI MARWAT - A person was killed while three others sustained injuries when a passenger bus collided with a truck coming from opposite direction on the Indus Highway on Sunday.
The accident occurred near Manjiwala chowk on Indus Highway in the area limits of Lakki Marwat police station”, eyewitnesses and police said. They said that the ill-fated bus was going to Peshawar from Karachi.
“As a result of the collision the bus slipped off the highway and rammed into a roadside tree”, they maintained, saying cleaner of the bus identified as Amjad died on the spot.
Three other passengers including Abdul Rasool, resident Shedad Kot, Yousaf, resident Larkana, and Nasir, resident of Karachi, got wounded and taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, prominent clerics belonging to Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat have welcomed Pir Tufail Ahmad Jan Zakori’s joining Awami National Party and reaffirmed that they would utilize all-out resources to grab victory for Zakori family in the upcoming elections.  They were addressing a meeting held in a religious seminary in Darra Pezu town on Sunday. Pir Tufail Ahmad Jan Zakori and ANP District General Secretary Fazal Rahim were also present on the occasion.
The speakers included Maulana Ghulam Ali Raza, Maulana Amen Shah, Maulana Yaqoob Khan, Maulana Abdul Qayyum, Maulana Gul Imam, Maulana Sakhi Marjan, Maulana Imadud Din, Maulana Shafiullah, Maulana Hikmatullah and Maulana Muhammad Ismail.
They said that religious scholars, ulema and seminaries affiliated with Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat were ignored in the past and there was the need to address their problems. They said that Tufail’s decision would help divert the government’s attention towards the problems and grievances of ASWJ clerics.
Speaking at the meeting, Zakori said that to join ANP was aimed providing a platform to ASWJ ulema to bring their problems into the notice of rulers without facing any difficulty.
He said that he would contest election from PK-75 (Lakki Marwat-II) constituency; therefore, the followers of Zakori family should launch a mass contact campaign to strengthen his position.
