Peshawar blast kills two ‘bombers’

PESHAWAR - At least two people, believed to be suicide bombers, were killed in a high intensity blast in Dir Colony area here on Sunday. Police said dead men were suicide bomber and they were riding a motorbike in a plot situated in Dir Colony, Jamil Chawak Peshawar. Police have also recovered a pistol and ball bearings from the site. The intensity of the blast was so severe that bodies of both the people were badly mutilated. The identity of the killed men could not be ascertained, however, police claimed that they were miscreants.  Heavy contingent of police rushed to the blast site and collected evidence. The heads of both the miscreants were shifted to mortuary for identification. Police said parts of motorcycle and its engine had been taken by Paharipura Police. Meanwhile, another sabotaging bid was foiled by police when a six kilogram explosive device was defused in Tarnab Farm area in Peshawar. The remote-controlled device was planted on a motorbike parked on a roadside in Tarnab Farm area. Talking to mediamen Inspector General Bomb Disposal Squad, Shafaqat Malik, said bomb weighed about six kilogram and its target was law enforcement agencies. He said police had started investigation after defusing the bomb successfully.
