Pledge to make Khanewal a model district

KHANEWAL - No stone will be left unturned to make Khanewal one of the model districts of the country by resolving the people's problems, claimed the district administration.
As per the Punjab chief minister's vision, priority was being given to the development of education and health sectors, said Nadeem Mehboob, the district coordination officer, during a meeting. The meeting was also attended by MPAs Nishat Ahmad Khan and Karam Dad.
The DCO said that delay in construction work and usage of cheap material in the development projects would not be tolerated. He urged the people to approach him for the redressal of their problems without any interruption by any official of his office. The DCO added that billions of rupees for the development of Khanewal district was being spent by the government.
The pace of work at the development projects in Khanewal had been accelerated. He said the contractors found using substandard material would be blacklisted.  He said that the health department had been directed to improve basic health units, tehsil headquarters hospitals and especially DHQ Hospital of Khanewal.
He added that the education officials had been directed to take steps to improve education in the district.
