Rawalpindi - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Tuesday presented record of frozen assets of the two proclaimed offenders, both residents of Bahawalnagar district, in a mudaraba scam before an accountability court (AC). The court summoned the district collector of Bahawalnagar on December 9, 2014 to asses the value of the property and other assets of the POs. The court also recorded the statements of four prosecution witnesses in mudaraba scam. The accountability judge took up reference number 6 of Rs 7 billion during which the NAB Special Public Prosecutor Qaisar Khan produced the details of frozen assets of two POs, namely Muhammad Umar and M Nasir, and pleaded the court for issuing orders for action. Similarly, four prosecution witnesses Tanvir Ahmed, Suhail Akhter, Zafar Iqbal and Syed Muhammad Mujtaba also appeared before the judge and got their statements recorded.
The defence lawyer Malik Jawad Khalid also cross-examined the witnesses.
Earlier, the NAB moved a reference against Asif Javed alias Maulvi Ibrahim, Muhammad Umar, Muhammad Nasir, Muhammad Usama Zia, Abdul Rafay, Nasir Ali, Ghulam Qadir, Shabbir Ahmed, Abdul Khaliq, Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Shahid showing them co-accused. All the accused were facing court of law for swindling Rs 7 billion from innocent people.
