SARGODHA - The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) rejected the bail application of former PPP parliamentary secretary Muhammad Aslam Madhiana on Thursday.
The application was rejected for non-compliance of the applicant. It is to be noted that the police had registered an FIR against Muhammad Aslam Madhiana under ATA for allegedly torturing and breaking the legs of his political rival namely Nafees Ahmed Khan with the connivance of his accomplices.
Later, Mr Madhiana got an interim bail form ATC until February 2 but he did not turn up in the court on the stipulated date. At which the court dismissed his interim bail. Aslam Madhiana is the father of PPP MPA Awais Madhiana.
The police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Lawyers, PHED employees take out protests: Lawyers and Public Health Engineering Department contract employees Thursday took out protest rallies separately for their demands.
The lawyers’ fraternity, on the call of District Bar Association, observed strike against the police behaviour and took out protest rally. The participants marched on District Court Road and demanded the police high-ups to discharge FIRs against lawyers.
Meanwhile, PHED contract employees also held a protest rally for their demands.
