It’s Khosa versus Khosa in DG Khan

LAHORE – Senior Adviser to the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has announced to face his ‘disobedient son’ Sardar Saifuddin Khosa in the next elections. I absolutely renounce Saif as my political successor after he has shifted his loyalties to the Pakistan People’s Party, Sardar Zulfiqar told a press conference in an emotional tone on Saturday.
Flanked by his other two sons Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa and Sardar Hassamuddin Khosa, Sardar Zulfiqar said if the PPP fields Saif in the next election, he would face him as the PML-N candidate.
He said that he was enraged and saddened over Saif’s defection to the Pakistan People’s Party. He dispelled rumours that he, along with his sons, will join the PPP, once the interim government takes charge.
It is out of question that we will join the PPP, a party which is responsible for all problems and ills in the country and has separated a son from his father, he told reporters. He asserted that he and his family would keep their allegiance to the PML-N.
Sardar Zulfiqar said the seed of differences between him and Saif were sown when he named Hassamuddin Khosa to contest for the seat he vacated after elevation to the Senate.  Saif wanted to field a candidate of his choice which was not acceptable to him and the party, he said, adding that Saif strongly opposed his brother in the by-election.  He said that he was annoyed with his son Dost Muhammad Khosa for revealing his differences with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the media, adding that he should have used party platform, if he had any grievances.  Dost Muhammad Khosa told the press that after Allah Almighty, the decisions of his father are most sacred to him. He said he was loyal and faithful to Nawaz Sharif in the past and would be in the future. I repose full trust in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership, he said adding, there was some misunderstanding and he had tendered apology to the Chief Minsiter.
Senior Khosa also criticise Saif for maligning the Punjab government and presenting false facts and figures about the use of public funds at a TV talk show. He said whatever Saif said in the talk show was absolutely incorrect. The advisor to the Chief Minister said that the Punjab government spent Rs11.65 billion on mega projects, health, education and social sectors in Dera Ghazi Khan.
He said that Saif also misquoted the number of measles cases and the epidemic was now under control.  The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz veteran said that Saif should feel ashamed for levelling false allegations on the party he had been affiliated with for 20 years. He has done it to please the PPP and perhaps for millions of rupees.  However, he refused to deny Siaf of his inheritance, saying Shariah did not allow him to do so.
