Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed has demanded an all-out effort by the Taliban and the government complying with the Constitution for peace after the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan had responded politically over the dialogue issue by naming a five-member committee for the purpose.
Talking to the media here on Sunday, Hafiz Hussain said the TTP had given a befitting reply to those raising objections over the mode, terms and conditions of peace dialogues. He said it was now upon the committee representing the government and teh mutineers how to proceed on the issue but what is to be done must be in accordance with the Constitution of the country.
The JUI-F leader urged both the sides to completely authorise the teams to be holding talks so as to reach a consensus. To a question, he said that Pervez Musharraf’s issue has become ‘troublesome’ for the government as it neither can move ahead nor could let it go. “If the court gives decision against Musharraf, it will create chaos in national institution and a verdict in his favour can hurt the credibility of the judiciary,” he added. He said Musharraf’s disease was of “military” nature and not of “civilian” nature.
CASE REGISTERED AGAINST 12 COPS: On the orders of Additional and Sessions Judge Pindi Bhattian, the Sukheke police have registered a case against SHO Vanike Tarar police station and eleven policemen on the charge of intruding into the house of Muhammad Hanif in Bhobhrra village, violating the sanctity of house and harassing the family members.
According to the FIR, Ejaz Warraich SHO Vanike Tarar, ASI Noor Muhammad and 10 policemen illegally entered the house of Muhammad Hanif and allegedly abused and harassed the family members including the women as well as threatening to kill his sons in a fake encounter.
Complainant Muhammad Hanif went from pillar to post to get a case registered against the raiders but the police high ups turned a deaf ear his complaint. Thereupon, the complainant filed a writ petition with the court who ordered the registration of a case.
New XEN vows no mercy for pilferers: Newly appointed Gepco Executive Engineer Sh Aman Ullah has said that electricity pilferers will be dealt with iron hand and no consumer will be issued inflated bills.
Addressing the office-bearers of Hydro-Electric Labour Union Hafizabad chapter, the Xen has advised the employees to desist from preparing inflated bills and those found in such practice would be dealt with sternly. He sought the cooperation of union Chairman Abdul Razzaq and Secretary Malik Shafqat Mehmood in this respect.
