DSJ orders release of 12 prisoners

MANDI BAHAUDDIN -District and Sessions Judge (DSJ) Mian Muhammad Anwar Nazir along with Civil Judge Ednan Mehdi, DBA President Iqbal Gondal and Secretary Akram Gondal during a visit to District Jail, ordered release of 20 prisoners including prayer leaders booked for violating amplifier ordinance and delivering hate speeches.
He met the prisoners to learn about the status of cases against them and other problems being faced by them. He listened to the problems of the prisoners and assured them of speedy justice. On the occasion, a large number of prisoners presented applications for early hearing of their cases while many submitted applications for review of court decisions against them.
He also checked cooking house and Jail Hospital where he met patients under treatment and enquired about health and provision of medicines.  He met inmates of jail and listened to their complaints. He ordered release of 20 under trial prisoners including prayer leaders booked for violating amplifier ordinance and delivering hate speeches.
Earlier, Acting Jail Superintendent briefed the judge on jail matters and measures taken for welfare of the prisoners.
Meanwhile, the Pahrianwali Police solved the mystery of blind murder case. According to the police that they found dead body of 35-year-old Qamar Nawaz, a resident of Khosar village from the fields two days ago.
The police arrested his wife Bakhti Jamali and during integration, she confessed that her paramour Asghar along with his two unknown accused strangulated her husband to death and threw the body in crop fields. The Police have registered case against four accused including Bakhti Jamali and Asghar.
