Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Central President Dr Raheeq Abbasi on Monday regretted that the Punjab rulers, instead taking stern action against the police officers involved in Model Town incident, were gifting them with postings on important slots.
While addressing media reporters here at Kamalia press club, the PAT president stated that Sharif brothers were incapable of running affairs of the state and crises of gas, electricity and petrol shortage stood testimony to their mismanagement and ineptitude. He claimed that the Punjab Food Department had defaulted on Rs1 billion bank loan, warning that if the department failed to purchase wheat from the growers in the upcoming harvesting, the country would have to face another crisis of wheat. Mr Raheeq claimed that a petition would be filed in the court against the notice issued by the Punjab government for cancellation of registration of Minhajul Quran. On the occasion, he showered the former Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar with praise for his resignation “what he called” he had tendered due to wrongdoings of the Punjab government.
PAT Central deputy general secretary Raja Nadim, district president Hafeez Bhutta and Kamalia city president advocate Abdul Shakoor were also present on the occasion.
