A boat carrying at least 100 people capsized in a river near Syedwala area of Nankana Sahib on Friday, reported Radio Pakistan.

According to reports, 80 people have been rescued and rescue operation for more than 20 people was underway.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sought report from local administration and directed the authorities concerned to speed up rescue activities.
