LAHORE- Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif today met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed security issues in the province.
DG ISPR Asim Bajwa tweeted about the meeting on Twitter, saying that security coordination at the provincial level was part of the National Action Plan.
During the meeting, they discussed military courts, death sentences of militants and other security matters.
"The key to success lies in wholehearted participation of society," an ISPR statement quoted the COAS as saying.
“Failure to eliminate all manifestations of extremism and terrorism at the grass roots level in our country is not an option," General Raheel said.
He assured full support to the provincial government for speedy action against all forces of evil on the soil of Pakistan.
