ISLAMABAD (APP) - Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Saturday expressed firm resolve to ensure transparent arrangements for the Haj-2011, by providing maximum facilities to pilgrims through a 'Code of conduct, accorded with Saudi Arabian Government. Talking to PTV, the minister said that he himself would supervise the coming Haj operations and try to make exemplary arrangements for the 'Guests of Allah Almighty both in Pakistan and at the Holy land of Saudi Arabia. He said that the Haj Policy for 2011 was announced after coordinating with Saudi Arabian Haj authorities and this policy was formulated keeping in view of the former Pakistani Haj policies. He said the ministry started receiving Haj applications from April 10 and completed the whole process within 11 days by issuing 83,000 congratulation letters to the pilgrims. For women a special 'Aba(veil) is designed which have a Pakistani flag sticker printed on its back to detect and recognise the female pilgrims, easily and two 'Abayah(veils) would be given to each female pilgrim, Khursheed said. He said that mobile phone SIMS would be allotted to each pilgrim by Haji Camp authorities and after July 15, pilgrims would be issued their buildings and Maktab (office) numbers. This year pilgrims from the same tehsil and district, would be boarded on the same plane so that they do not have to wait in Saudia for arrival of their native area pilgrims. He said that in case of a death and injuries of a pilgrim in any mishap, Rs200,000 and Rs100,000 respectively would be given to each pilgrim by the Pakistani government. The strength of doctors and paramedical staff has been doubled to facilitate the pilgrims, he said. He said that Khuddam ul Haj including 250 from Pakistan armed forces would serve the pilgrims and they will be wearing national flag uniforms for an easy recognition. He said if a complaint is received against any Haj operator, he would be blacklisted.
