US drone strikes kill 18 in North Waziristan

Unmanned US drones fired missiles in North Waziristan, killing eighteen people, media reports confirmed late Tuesday night.
According to sources, the drones attacked a residential compound and a vehicle in Danday Darpa Khel area of the Nroth Waziristan Agency that borders war-stricken Afghanistan.
The sources said that the unmanned aircraft fired four missiles in the latest attack. Earlier, the reported toll was seven that later rose to 18.
The drones continued hovering over the area even after the attack.
Pakistan has long been opposing US drone strikes in its tribal region near Afghan border.
Islamabad says the drone attacks are violation of its sovereignty.
However, Washington continues to use unmanned aircraft in the tribal belt against alleged Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants.
