PM grieved over sinking of ferry in China

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif today expressed his shock and grief, at the tragic sinking of a ferry on the Yangtze River that was carrying 458 tourists, mostly from China.

In a letter to his Chinese counterpart, Premier Li Keqiang, the Prime Minister offered his condolences on the tragedy and conveyed that the people of Pakistan shared the anguish and sorrow of their Chinese brethren.

He further hoped that the people of China will come out of this tragedy with their usual resilience and courage.

The unfortunate ferry was on a trip from Nanjing to Chongqing and capsized in rough weather conditions.
