We’ll deliver on Seraiki province: PM


MULTAN – Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterated on Friday that PPP will create Seraiki province, saying demands for many other new provinces was aimed at subverting its creation.
“The names of such provinces are being tossed that will never be created. It’s just an attempt in frustration to slow down the process of making of Seraiki province,” Gilani said to a question from local journalists at Multan Airport.
The premier, who came to Multan on a three-day visit, said that sincere efforts were being made to thwart all conspiracies against the new province in southern Punjab. “God willing we’ll remove all obstacles in the way of Seraiki province and we’ll give this gift to the residents of this region soon,” he added.
Referring to his son Ali Moosa Gilani’s success in NA-148 by-polls, he said the credit goes to people of Multan and the PPP; “I congratulate them all for this success”.
Gilani would stay in his hometown till Sunday evening and during the stay he would inaugurate a number of development projects. Besides meeting political workers, citizens and notables at the Circuit House Friday evening, he is scheduled to chair a function organised by the Air University and receive briefing on Multan Beautification Plan at State Bank Auditorium.
On Saturday, he would inaugurate NHA projects at Fertilizer Factory Chowk and meet different delegations at Circuit House. On the final day of his visit, he would distribute keys of newly constructed houses among flood affectees in Kot Addu and attend a luncheon to be held in his honour by MPA Dr Akhtar Malik.
