Four shot dead in Kech

QUETTA - Four men were gunned down early Saturday in Tump tehsil of Balochistan’s Kech district.
Tump Tehsildar Hussain Jan said that a vehicle was passing near Rodban Bridge area of Tump, some 40 kilometres from Turbat, when armed men sprayed bullets on it.
“Due to heavy firing the vehicle caught fire and four people died on the spot after receiving bullet wounds and burn injuries,” he added.
Levies personnel reached at the site and shifted the dead bodies to hospital for postmortem. Sources said the deceased were heading towards Mand from Tump when they were attacked with automatic weapons.
Hospital sources said that the bodies were badly disfigured due to fire making it difficult to identify them.
However, the deceased were later identified as Abdullah, Nasir, Yar Muhammad and Ejaz Ahmed. Deceased Ejaz Ahmed was told to be resident of Karachi while the other three men belonged to Mand area.
“Investigation into the incident is in initial stage and nothing could be said about the motive behind the attack,” Hussain Jan said. He said that deceased Abdullah had a tribal enmity and this might be the cause of the attack.
He also informed that weapons were also recovered from the vehicle of deceased persons. A case had been registered and investigation was underway.
