PESHAWAR - Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Engineer Shaukatullah has taken serious notice of the terrorist attacks on polio team and personnel of Khasadar Force in Khyber Agency and directed the relevant officials to take all possible measures to ensure the foolproof security of polio teams especially in the Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
He was presiding over a high-level meeting regarding law and order situation in FATA at the Governor House Peshawar on Sunday. The meeting is set to review law and order situation in the FATA in general with special focus on the security of polio teams.
A detailed briefing was also given to the Governor regarding overall situation of law and order in FATA. The security of polio teams was also reviewed. Additional Chief Secretary FATA Arbab Mohammad Arif, Secretary Law and order FATA and others also attended the meeting.
The governor directed that more steps should be taken to ensure security of polio teams and restore peace in FATA so that confidence of tribal people is restored. He said that the elements involved in the heinous crimes of terrorism do not have any concern to humanity, religious and cultural norms and traditions. He directed the officials that such criminal elements should be brought to the court of law without delay.
He assured that full moral, administrative and legal support will be given to the law enforcement agencies and directed the high officials to take prompt steps to ensure the protection of polio teams. The Government would leave no stone unturned to make FATA a peaceful, secured and stable region, he further added.
