RAWALPINDI (Online) - The City District Administration has finalized all arrangements to tackle the situation likely to be expected in Nullah Leh during the season of monsoon. The co-ordination among different departments including District Administration, Civil Defence Department, Education, Metrological Department has been made effective and reports have been sought from citys hospitals, Rescue 1122, Education Department and TMOs regarding available facilities. Directives have also been issued regarding removal of slum areas and encroachments set up on both sides of Nullah Leh. The flood season at Nullah Leh has been declared from June 15 to September 15 and all concerned departments would be red alert during that period. District Civil Defence Officer Rawalpindi in a statement said that there is no possibility of any flood at Nullah Lai and all precautionary measures have been taken. He said that nearly 500 volunteers of the administration would perform round the clock duties on affected areas of Nullah Leh in the rainy season, adding crackdown to be started against people involved in throwing garbage and building material in Nullah Leh.
