SUKKUR - Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Friday asked the federal government to take the opposition and parliament into confidence over the issue of talks with the Taliban. Talking to media persons here, Khursheed Shah said the government should not consider itself too much wise over the issue of negotiations. He asserted consultations would help the government’s cause. He said it was not clear why the government was escaping from the issue. The opposition leader recalled the PPP government during its tenure always took the opposition into confidence and held joints sessions of the parliament and in-camera briefings. He said the Karachi operation was successful to a great extent and the people had benefited from it. He averred the MQM was now in the government and protests did not suit them. He advised the MQM to sit with the Sindh governor and chief minister to sort out issues rather than holding protests and burning tyres.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
