ISLAMABAD- Pakistan has received $400 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) today. The loan is part of an assistance program which will underwrite reforms needed to make the energy sector affordable, reliable and sustainable. In recognition of government’s commitment to carry out reforms, particularly in the energy sector, the Asian Development Bank had approved a loan worth $400 million for Pakistan and an agreement was signed on April, 28 at the Finance Ministry. Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar had already indicated the commencement of coal power projects in different parts of the country with the help of soft loans.
